You can easily dial out and start new text conversations with Linq Phone in the Linq app. Here I will show screenshots so you can know what to expect.
Steps
Open the Linq app and go to the Phone tab.
Click either the Phone or the Text bubble in the top right.
Choose to enter a number or pick a contact from your Linq contacts.
Start the call or send the text.
This will create a new thread in your conversation center.
