If you purchased a Hyper product, updated the app clip picture and(or) subtext, and do not see this updating, this article can help.

Hyper products utilize Apple's App Clip system. When a Hyper product is tapped or the QR code is scanned, a temporary (48 hrs) App Clip is installed. This is a lightweight app that removes itself after 48 hours. This app clip has images and text that can be Cache'd by the Linq app or the phone itself. Here we will go over ways to diagnose this to make sure you and every IOS user who scans your card sees the same App Clip that you updated.

Steps

If Linq app is installed:

  1. Delete the app and test with the app uninstalled.

  2. If new app clip shows:

    1. The Linq app was caching this image and it needed to be deleted and reinstalled to update this cache.

  3. If old App clip still shows:

    1. Click Open on this incorrect preview and go to the page to verify it is activated to the correct page.

    2. Delete the App Clip that was just created (video below to help)

      1. Go to your iPhone Settings

      2. Scroll to the bottom where apps are listed

      3. At the top in the A’s, should be “App Clip”

      4. Click into here and remove All App clips

    1. Clear Phone Cache via Soft Reset:

      1. Turning off Phone

      2. Turn On Phone

    2. Test Again.

      1. App Clip should be cleared, and phone cache cleared, and app remains uninstalled. When scanned this should show the most recent App clip Preview.

If Linq app is already NOT installed and it shows the old default App Clip, start with Step 3.

This should help you ensure that your phone or app is not just caching the old image that you previously scanned and stored. If you have followed all these diagnostic steps and still see the old App Clip, please reach out to [email protected] with a picture of your QR code.
